Electrophoretic Deposition is a method for producing particulate coatings on an electrode surface or making freestanding objects more quickly than by slip casting. It can also be used as a component in a high resolution printing process. The "What is EPD?" section is imporant for both beginners and advanced experimenters. In order to study a phenomenon it is necessary to agree on what that phenomenon is. EPD is much more than it first appears to be. "The Thesis" gives an introduction to much of the science necessary to understand 'True EPD', with a few notable exceptions that are discussed in the 2009 introduction. The "Experimental Tips" section covers what to look for and record to understand how a particular EPD system works. |
